After completing these introductory tasks, you will be prompted to replace Bess, Hank, and Doc Auburn with your friends! After hiring a friend, the character you replace with your friend, will no longer be available.

New type of Currency, Prize Tickets

There is also a new type of currency in Pioneer Trail, the Prize Ticket. Prize Ticket’s can be earned by completing missions and will be needed to purchase new items featured in the Market and Trader Bart’s Wagon.

You will also need to keep track of your resources displayed on the top of your screen. These are the items obtained from your roles and will sometimes be needed for missions or required for certain trades along the way.

You also may have noticed that there is no Energy bar. In Pioneer Trail, you will have Rations instead of Energy. When you run out of Rations, you will receive the message below.

Shovel Trouble Hurts your Travel

Occasionally, you will come across a Blue exclamation point. By clicking on this, you will receive a Bonus Mission. You don’t have to finish Bonus Missions, but they will yield above average rewards if completed!

Trade Scrolls and Story Scrolls

When you encounter a Trade Scroll or Story Scroll, you will be able to add your own personal spin on the game. Trade Scrolls and Story Scrolls can be obtained by completing tasks on the Pioneer Trail!

When using your Trade Scroll, you will be prompted with a trade. You will lose the items on the left in the trade, and gain the items on the right in the trade. However, you don’t have to accept the trade!
